Giving the “Oath of Office” in Your County

One of the decisions made at our last meeting was that in addition to Representatives and Alternates from each County being required to take the “Oath of Office”, the County Committee Officers should also take the Oath.

Presiding at the swearing in should be someone who has already taken the oath. This will likely be one of you Representatives or Alternates, or a veteran on your committee.

Here is the text of the oath:
I, Your name, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
